Infiniti G35 Sedan
The G35 is a model from Infiniti, the luxury car brand of Nissan Motors. The G35 was introduced to compete with BMW’s 3-series and Audi’s A4 (among others) as an entry-level luxury vehicle. It was originally marketed as a luxury-sports sedan, as opposed to a luxury-sports compact.
The G35 was the first generation of the G series. It was introduced and went into production in 2003. Reviews by Edmunds.com mention a preference towards the original version of the G35 as opposed to the later versions, branding the original as “a sports car in luxury clothing.” The Infiniti G35 was reintroduced as a coupe in 2007.
From its inception and through 2006, Infiniti used a 3.5 L VQ35DE in each G35 sedan. The VQ is a Nissan-produced V6 piston engine. This engine placed on Ward’s 10 Best Engines List every year the G35 used it. The later editions of the G35–the 2007 and 2008 editions–used a 3.5 L VQ35HR. The 2007 G35 was the first sedan in the U.S. to be introduced with this updated engine, according to AutoWeek.
The 2008 G35 was sold in four editions, according to Edmunds.com: the Base, Journey, Sport and X. The Sport model was offered with a manual transmission, while the Base, Journey and X were only made with automatics. The X edition was unique, as it was offered in all-wheel drive–unlike the rear-wheel drive versions of the Base, Journey and Sport.
